Right on time for the Black Friday Moondrop released the Nice Buds – their newest flat-headed earbuds which they had announced on their social media a weak ago. That’s quite an unexpected move from Moodrop which has been focused on
IEMs, TWS and even full-sized headphones lately. Another surprise is the low price – Nice Buds only cost around 10 US dollars despite featuring original design plastic shells which come in two translucent finishes (clear white and smoky gray). The shells feature an asymmetric design which should help with the fit. Also, the stems seem to have functional bass tubes which makes this a very attractive feature for DIYers considering reusing the shells for their own creations. Buds come in a fun colorful blister pack. Personally, I really like their clean, well-executed design that looks more premium than the price suggests. Well, except for the cheapish thin cable…
According to Moondrop, the release of Nice buds is their move for “Bringing Flat-Headed Earbuds-Back”. That’s a celebration of their 10 year history that started with the release of flathead earbuds back in 2015. Let’s hope thousands of Moondrop fans get curious enough to try something more than IEMs. Of course, if these sound decent, which we still need to find out.
