Canada-based TGXear has just made the Totem 2 available for order on their e-shop. The original Totem earned a remarkable reputation for its ‘reference-leaning but musical’ tuning, characterized by a highly resolving, technical sound, natural timbre, and an expansive soundstage. For a deeper dive into the original’s performance, you can check out AWSMDanny’s video review.

So, what’s new with the Totem 2? The maker has been notably laconic: the new version features next-generation plastic bell-shaped shells with dual bass ports and 600-ohm custom dynamic drivers (not sure, wherether these are the same 15.4mm Beryllium PVD with 600ohm N55 magnetic circuit used in previous model). That’s it. It seems TGXear is relying on their reputation rather than flashy marketing copy. The price has seen a slight bump to $350.00, and judging by the photos, the Totem 2 still features a non-replaceable cable terminated in a 4.4mm jack.
